Two large, shade umbrellas cool the playground recess area at Newcastle Elementary School in Placer County, CA. 

Each umbrella has an inground foundation and remains permanently open.  The fabric measures 20' diameter and withstands the strong winds of this Sierrra Foothills community.  Entry height is 8'6" and peak height is 13'6".
